Durga Nand Jha, Executive Chairman of Centre for Policy Analysis, has been Project Director of number of research projects covering diverse sectors and issues such as: FDI, Agriculture, Labour, decentralization and Panchayatiraj. He was also member of a 'Committee on Vision 2020' constituted by the erstwhile Planning Commission, in 2000. He has presented a number of papers on the issues of governance, development and strategic affairs in various national and international conferences. In 2017, he was member of a committee constituted by the Ministry of Panchayatiraj to review use of grants by various states under Fourteenth Finance Commission.

Besides academic activities, he has been active on various social issues. He has convened number of meetings since 2013 between distinguished persons from Hindu and Muslim community-drawing from various walks of life-to resolve disputes on various social and religious issues.

CPA : The Centre of Policy Analysis (CPA) is a research institute having its headquarter at Patna, came into being in 2007. It falls under the purview of Society registration Act, 1860. It has been functioning as a think tank on the variety of issues such as planning, decentralization, developmental issues, internal security, foreign policy, strategic affairs, etc. Besides, CPA also studies policy implications of various schemes and policies of Govt. of India as well as that of various state governments. The CPA conceives its larger role as one of contributing institute in inter-disciplinary studeis helpful to the comprehensive development of the society. The institute works with the goal to promote highly focused research on various aspects of social and economic development of the country. As per the defined goals of the institute, it gives accent on the studies, which can provide feedbacks to the policy makers and planners on diverse issues ranging from strategic affairs to the decentralized planning and all other issues essential to bring about a cohesive social system and inclusive development.
