In view of the Civil Court order (vide no CS SCJ No 355/2023 dated 22-3-2023), the Election of The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia (FCC) for 2023-25 will be conducted in compliance of Clause 8 of the bye-laws of the Club during the scheduled Annual General Meeting on March 27, 2023.
The Election process has to be followed as under –
1. The schedule of scrutiny of nominations and the publication of the list of contestants will remain the same i.e. the Final List of Contestants will be published on 23/3/2023.
2. The online voting schedule has been cancelled in view of the order of the Court.
3. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on 27/3/2023 between 5.00 PM and 10.00 PM.
4. Voting during the AGM will be held by secret ballot, and votes will be cast during the AGM on 27/3/2023 between 5.00 PM and 8.00 PM.
5. The counting of votes and announcement of final results of elections will be done on 27/3/2023 in the AGM.
6. The valid Voters’ List has already been published and the members named in the same can only vote during the casting of Ballots.
7. Identity of voters will be checked and verified; they must bring their FCC membership card and/or valid government identity cards to confirm identity in order to attend the AGM and cast their ballots.

Announcement by Returning Officer 7 March 2023 - Notice -1
NOTICE-1

The undersigned has been appointed as the Returning Officer by the Governing Committee of The Foreign Correspondents' Club of South Asia ("the Club") to hold the elections of the Club for the term 1 April 2023 until 31 March 2025.
IMPORTANT:
The elections will be held for the posts of the President, the Secretary, the Treasurer and 8 (eight) the Governing Committee members. The schedule of the elections would be as under:
i. Publication of valid voters list 11/3/2023.
ii. Filing of Nominations 12/3/2023 to 19/3/2023.
iii. Withdrawal of Nominations 20/3/2023 to 22/3/2023.
iv. Announcement of Eligible Candidates for the Elections 23/3/23.
v. Online Voting 25/3/2023 to 26/3/2023.
vi. Announcement of results 27/3/23 in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Club scheduled on the same date.
Only Foreign Correspondent (FC) Category Members who have fully paid their subscription on or before 10 March 2023 for their subscriptions valid at least until March 2023, shall be included in the valid voters list and will be eligible to contest, propose and second candidates, and to vote.
FC Members interested in contesting for the above posts (contestants) shall send an email message to the Returning Officer via email: elections2023@fccsouthasia.com. Contestants must state his/her membership number, post to which he/she wishes to contest, and names and membership number of one eligible FC category Proposer and one eligible FC category Seconder. Separately, an email must be sent by the Proposer and the Seconder to the Returning Officer in support of the Contestant.
Emails from Contestants, Proposers and Seconders must be received latest by 19th March 2023. The Emails, their contents, proposer and seconder will be duly verified. Any Proposer and Seconder can propose and second for maximum three names.
The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is 22nd March 2023.
Final List of Candidates will be put up on 23rd March 2023 on the FCC website (www.fccsouthasia.com) and communicated to members by Email and WhatsApp.
Online voting as in the past will be conducted starting 24th March 2023 at 10 AM and close on 26th March 2023 at 6 PM. The process of online voting shall be published on the FCC South Asia website on 23rd March 2023 and also communicated via email to eligible voters on the same date.
The portal for online voting shall be opened on the dates mentioned above and only the valid voters shall be allowed to vote online.
All the communications by the undersigned shall be issued on the website of the club and shall also be sent on the registered emails of the members. You can update your email details to avoid any miscommunication.
