RULES & INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

Rules
The FCC South Asia is a Club of professional journalists working for the international media and was founded in 1958. We also admit members under five other categories: Journalists working for the Indian media (Journalist Associate), diplomats based in India (Diplomat Associate), professionals, authors, artistes, government officials etc (General Associate) and corporate executives wishing to interact with the media (Corporate Associate), and their spouses of members (Spouse). Membership of the FCC South enables you to visit and avail the facilities of the Club, enables you to attend events at the Club, and also gives you access to 42 Press Clubs in 28 countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. As and when FCC South Asia has reciprocal arrangements with media and other clubs in India and overseas, the same will be informed to members so that they can avail the benefits.
1. FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT MEMBERS (FC):
Journalists who in writing, broadcasting, photographic, research or managerial capacity, represent foreign-based media, or media for which the bulk of circulation or audience is outside India. This is the only membership category which has the right to vote in Club meetings and elections to run the affairs of the Club. Applications should be accompanied by a Press Information Bureau (PIB) accreditation card from the Government of India, or a letter from a foreign-based Editor of the organization applicant works for, or clippings during the period of 6 months (reporting events in India or elsewhere) preceding the application to become an FC category member of the FCC South Asia. Annual subscription is Rs 5,000 plus Rs. 3,000 one-time non-refundable admission fee plus applicable taxes.
2. JOURNALIST ASSOCIATE MEMBERS (JA):
Journalists whose main professional duties are representing Indian media in an editing, writing, broadcasting, photographic, research or managerial capacity. Applications should be accompanied by a PIB accreditation card from the Government of India or a letter from the Editor of the Organization, or clippings during the period of 6 months (reporting events in India) preceding the application to become an JA category member of the FCC South Asia. Annual subscription is Rs 5,000 plus Rs. 4,237 one-time non-refundable admission fee plus applicable taxes.
3. DIPLOMAT ASSOCIATE MEMBERS (DA):
Diplomats working in Embassies/ High commissions and staff of UN-affiliated institutions (World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF etc) based in India are eligible. Annual subscription is Rs. 10,000 plus Rs 10,000 as one-time non-refundable admission fee. For the individuals from these organizations exempt from paying tax in India, there is no applicable taxes levied by us. However, if an applicant is not exempt from taxes will pay applicable taxes. Exemption requires submission of a copy of valid tax exempt status card / letter. Please note that if five or more members from the same mission / listed organization join, they all get a 10% discount individually or as a group based on their payment.
4. GENERAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERS (GA):
Representatives of profit or non-profit organisations and institutions, such as professionals (lawyers, doctors, accountants, academicians, those working for chambers of commerce and other institutions), promoters and officials of NGOs, and officials of government ministries and agencies, retired government officials, public relations & communications professionals, advertising industry persons, book publishers, business persons, political and social and sports etcetera personalities and other eminent persons who have some link with or may benefit from interaction with the foreign media (for example, being the head of an organisation or the public relations official). Applications for all General Associate members should be accompained by proof of occupation / employment, description of individual or organization activities, and a letter from the organisation. Annual subscription is Rs. 13,500 plus Rs. 8,474 one-time non-refundable admission fee plus applicable taxes.
5. CORPORATE ASSOCIATE MEMBERS (CA):
CEOs, Vice-Presidents and senior executives from Foreign companies, Multinational companies and Indian companies who wish to interact with FCC members applying in the name of their Company / Corporation. Applications should be accompained by proof of occupation and a letter from the organisation. Annual subscription is Rs 27,000 plus Rs 8,474 one-time, non-refundable admission fee plus applicable taxes.
6. SPOUSE MEMBERS:
Spouses of all categories of FCC Members. Annual subscription Rs 3,000 plus Rs 8,474 one-time, non-refundable admission fee plus applicable taxes.

Instructions
1. Each category application above must be submitted online as per the form (https://www.fccsouthasia.com/join-fcc) available on the website of the FCC South Asia. Form must be duly filled out online with all mandatory information and attachments as described and required. Application must be referred by an active Foreign Correspondent (FC) category member of the FCC South Asia. 3. You will receive an email message after your application is approved with details about the mode of payment. Once you pay (online/cheque/credit card/cash), you are admitted and requisite details will be uploaded on our website. Membership is valid for 12 months from the month in which you join the Club.

6. Annual subscription should be paid at least one month ahead of the month in which you are admitted to the Club. You will receive an email reminder and an Advance Invoice. Subscription Payments outstanding for more than one month after the due date will be subject to penalties and interest. Subscription Payments remaining outstanding for more than three months will result in suspension of membership. Subscription Payments remaining outstanding for more than six months will result in termination of membership. Exigent circumstances must be explained and submitted in a timely manner and will have to be approved by the President.
 
7. Your FCC Membership Card will be ready for collection 15 days after your payment is received subsequent to your application having been approved.
 
8. Should you leave India, change employment that may result in change of applicable membership category, it is your duty to inform the Club in writing. Membership category may change due to the change in your profession or the nature of your job. Also, if you wish to terminate the membership you may do so in writing else you will continue to receive Invoices to renew your subscription!
 
9. Club will notify you of activities, events, send notices, special offers and stay in touch with you via the Email address, Phone number and mailing address provided by you. Any change in contact information must be duly informed by you to the Club to continue to receive messages.
 
10. Club has the right to refuse and rescind the membership of any individual based on the rules and regulations of the Club and in the interest of the membership of the Club and its activities.
